Room-Temperature Ingredients: Cold eggs, milk, or butter can lead to an uneven batter. Let ingredients reach room temperature before mixing for a smoother texture.
Don't Overmix: Mixing the batter too much can develop excess gluten, making the cake dense and chewy instead of light and airy.
Use Moisture-Locking Ingredients: Adding sour cream, yogurt, or buttermilk makes cakes softer and keeps them fresh for longer. Proper Baking Time: Overbaking dries out cakes. Check doneness a few minutes before the suggested time by inserting a toothpick—if it comes out with a few moist crumbs, it's ready!
